150W Powerstar
Osram HQI-T Not too exciting but the only lamp I have with this type of electrode arrangement. Shown here just after ignition the UV content is seen fluorescing the outer envelope. This reduces with run up and the halides becoming active in the discharge.  The spectrum for the fully heated lamp is shown in the picture insert. Lamp colour temperature is a pleasant warm 3000K.

I always thought these were very cool, what an interesting way to make a single ended lamp. I would assume they would be relatively easy to manufacture as well.

I disagree with your "not too exciting". That single-ended burner design is a really neat concept and a very clever approach to ensure stable light color and output over a wide range of burning positions. It's always a treat seeing these lamps, lit or not. Have you seen its glowing tin halide atmosphere after switch off? It's quite impressive!

It is an interesting electrode design indeed and quite fascinating that it doesn’t behave unstably, like a small ‘Jacob's Ladder’ in certain orientations. Smile
I was doubtful this lamp contained the Tin additive to the halides, but it certainly has a noticeable vapour after glow.
