Halogen ballasted mercury lamp
Here is a lamp claiming to be a self ballasted metal halide lamp. However, seemingly no halide salts are in the arc tube, making it a pure mercury discharge. What's also unusual is that the lamp uses a halogen capsule to ballast the arc tube instead of a standard open filament. It's typical Chinese quality, but quirky enough for me to want to give them a go. It looks like a 400w halogen lamp with a 125 or a 250w mercury tube.

Yeah, we've got a couple of those, a 250W and a 400W. Got them purely out of curiosity really, they certainly get warm Laughing

Good news the notifications work! They certainly do get a bit toasty Laughing The seller does market them as grow lamps too, I wonder what the overall lifespan of these would be Wonder

Great, if you want all your uploads and comments subscribed, let me know and I'll get Patrick to do it. I don't have access to the code and I wouldn't know what to do anyway..! Otherwise you'll have to do each one manually..!

I would like my uploads on notifications please, but past comments will be fine. I come on here often enough to see most new comments Smile
