My second gear board for running 35W SOX lanterns. Since this image was taken, I replaced the ballast with one that doesn't have an internal ignitor, even though the one in this ballast had failed.

Interesting little choc-block connectors, I've mainly used BS546 5A sockets to connect the lamps, it's bulkier, but I think more reliable as the cables have strain relief.

They're used for connecting photocells and mains power to gear trays in some lanterns, so the gear tray can be removed and replaced withouth unscrewing any terminals. I'd have liked to use something beefyer, but I have seen a grand total of zero 5A sockets, but we have hundreds of the little choc blocks at work Razz
I also like to run standard light bulbs in my lanterns from time to time, so I can connect the plug line straight to the lantern line without the gear board on the connectors if I want to.

I always check I have the lamp I want to use before connecting wires, and I always disconnect after using it Smile
