NOS 250w MV Sylvania B2227

Here's my 250w H37 MV Sylvania/Powerlite B2227 from 1982. Appears to be new old stock based on the condition and the included instructions. I believe the B2227 was made from the early 1970s to the mid 80s, when it was replaced by the R37 which used the same exterior housing but had some minor changes inside.

It didn't come with a lamp or PC so I stuck in my Sylvania 250w DX cleartop into it. It's from around the same era.

The ballast is a Sola Canada 250w MV CWI, Sola Canada ballasts were OE in Sylvania/Powerlite luminaires for years. Also interesting to see a MV cobrahead dated 1982. By 1982 most new installations (here in Ontario) were already HPS, with only existing MV lights still in use. I suppose this might have been ordered for spot replacement purposes. Note the lack of a NEMA tag too. Sylvania/Powerlite was rather late in adopting them compared to other OEMs. I think they only started using them in the mid 80s.
