Lots of infrared as well... maybe that's why the lamp is coated, to offset the infrared emission towards longer wavelengths.

In point two it says not to use the lamp if the filament has been broken, how would you be able to see that.? Mr. Green

I'm gonna assume this lamp isn't internally fused . I've had unfused X-mas lights weld themselves to the socket when a section of the filament shorts across the 2 lead wires . Imagine what this monster would do in the same instance ! Shocked
