Not seen one of these before for low wattage mercury replacement. GEC used to make a 120W HPS (Solarcolour) lamp with a snap starter, before the 70W SON appeared, but I think it was designed to run on its own gear, although probably would have worked on a 125W MBF/U ballast. Now a rare lamp to find.

Yeah, got one of those, they also made coated versions under the Osram name. They used a dedicated ballast, which are harder to find than the lamps. Must put the pictures up.

never saw a coated one, only clear elliptical. I had one as a kid but handled it too much and the top arc tube spot weld broke off leaving it flapping about with no connection
