A bucolic stroll
|
The Gennep neighborhood of Eindhoven is a small farming enclave located in the southern border of the city. That place, which also has some parks and a river (the Dommel), has been preserved from the city's explosive development, driven since 1891 mainly by the presence of large corporations such as Philips, DAF and then ASML. Roads and alleys there are illuminated at night by an interesting streetlight installation that consists of wooden poles, overhead mains lines, and 70 W sodium luminaires. I think this particular style is in tune with its environment and contributes to the charm of this place.
