Now you need to put one of these in an OV-400 and wrestle a 1500w ballast inside as well, I'm sure any thermal issues will be nonexistent. Laughing

I do have to wonder, what lights would have this thing been meant for?

Goodness, never seen anything above 1000W in a BT37. I see pictures of these kinds of BT37 cram lamps a lot but never any fixtures that are meant for them

It can't possibly be aimed at general lighting applications given its (very) short service life. I'd venture (pun intended) to say that this lamp is/was aimed at compact sportslight luminaires.

Max is correct, this was made for sports lighting.
@Drew - Venture also made a 1650W MH in the BT37 envelope. Mind Blown
