Thank Max, collected a few of these didactic tubes due to many educational establishments sadly getting rid of them.

That's good that you saved them. Why are schools getting rid of them? It's not like the technology is being replaced by LEDs... Is that because of the worsening in education quality? Such topic as electron physics being deemed as too difficult these days? If so, then that's a real shame!

It's bit of all of that. Since the TV CRT disappeared from homes the comparisons have been lost. I also guess teachers and lecturers are not keen setting up high voltage equipment these days either. It is a shame so many practical demonstrations have been lost from curriculums.
