Nice, we found that running our 35W SOX lamp on electronic gear it didn't perform as well compared to the magnetic lump. Confused

That's an interesting comment as I'm sure I shortened the life of a 18W SOX on an electronic ballast I converted. The head lighting in our local council said they had good result. Certainly a topic for investigation.

We experimented with the same lamp running on electronic versus magnetic gear and the magnetic won hands down with the run up time and brightness.

Plus nothing beats the hum of a good old magnetic lump of a ballast Laughing

Like the stands and boards for the ballasts as well.

We've known magnetic lumps that have been pulled out of flooded lighting columns and they still work.!! Surprised

I've dried out a couple too. Nearly indestructible, you could hammer in nails with these and they would work fine, just maybe hum louder Smile

Nails might be a bit extreme... Laughing

Nice lineup, it must have been bright!

Bright enough to see everything in a blue tint for a while after switch off Laughing

If you want to see bright, you should see Photonicinduction's SOX wall..! He has every rating from 10W to 180W one above the other. When they're all switched on, it's an amazing sight..! I don't have a photo of it at the moment, but we'll be visiting in a couple of weeks so I'll get one then.

Surprised , sounds eye burning. Bet there lots of buzzing ballasts too.
