A recent addition to the collection is this lovely old pip-top beehive neon lamp. I'm afraid I was unable to get a very good picture of the etch, but the date code is 94, which comes back as October 1941, but I'm sure this is earlier than that, can anyone help..?

Nice find Ria . I've seen several older neons on eBay recently but I've never got around to buying one yet .

I think October 41 is too late, this is definitely an earlier variant as the external evacuation of bulbs in lamps ended in the early 20s. Besides, by the 40's neon glow lamps was already old tech, so the "Patent" notice in the etch was no longer necessary by then.

We'll have to work back and see when that particular code was used before. Wonder
We've worked out that it might have been 1925 or 1917... Wonder
