Vintage glow

This 1960's classic from North America glows with a striking reddish color during the run up phase. This is the result of a cold burner which outputs mainly ultraviolet radiations that excite the lamp's magnesium fluorogermanate phosphor, whose fluorescence lies in the deep red end of the spectrum. This light combines with the blueish light from the mercury discharge, resulting in the effect seen here.

Thank you Sammi! that's a very old one too, one I took with my very first digital camera back in the early 2000s (20 years already? Gosh, time does fly by fast... I still have that lamp though)
