Aussie Post-Top Lanterns We saw several of these lovely old lanterns outside an old government building here in Brisbane, where we're on holiday visiting my cousin. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see them lit, so we don't know what lamps are in them. Does anyone know or have any idea..? Keywords: Lanterns

Look very like some of the acorn post-top lanterns they have in the States. Wonder
We had a good time in Brisbane and are now off to Sydney. Cool

We weren't so keen on Sydney, a lot of the people seemed to be jobsworths, unlike Brisbane where everyone was friendly Very Happy

Nobody seems to have shown any interest in these lanterns though Sad bulb icon

They were made by several Australian companies, and are likely to be 1940s originals. I've been told they light white at night, so have probably been retrofitted with the bad things. Interesting to see non american acorn lanterns
