Last one standing

This was quite a surprise to me, I thought the columns down this road were abandoned! There are 5 columns on this road on the approach to a roundabout junction with a dual carriageway, none have worked in at least 10 years. Yet suddenly, the last one from the RAB decided to work again! I was utterly astonished to see it shining on an otherwise unlit road. The lantern is a Thorn Alpha 2000, 150W at 10M. It turns out that the columns carry the county council maintenance numbers, but are in fact the responsibility of National highways, who maintain the dual carriageways. And this means they've been lost to time for a while, with nobody claiming ownership of them to maintain. And with them not appearing on either inventory, they were impossible to flag as faulty. Apologies for the poor quality image, it was the best I had.
