Westinghouse H39-KC-175/DX
Here's a Westinghouse H39-KC-175/DX 175w mercury lamp I found recently from Value Village. Not sure on exact date but definitely 80s since it has the R on the etch. Someone wrote 8/8/86 on the case.

According to the date code, this lamp was made in October 1979. It cannot be in the 1980s as Philips took over Westinghouse's lighting operations in 1983.

Love the small etch Westinghouse lamps !

I agree with Max...someone may have been doing inventory when writing 8/8/86...just a theory.

Tim, more will be posted soon! Cool

I wonder if the box got switched at one point. There's no reference of Philips on the etch but on the fine print on the sleeves and case, they say Philips Electronics Ltd. Lic. by Westinghouse, which was my main reason for thinking these are 80s instead of 70s.

Hmmm...unless Philips had the license to use the Westinghouse branding until 10/89... Wonder

That would be interesting. Another thing I noticed with these lamps are that the etches and the sleeves got updated with the "R" and on the sleeves the mandated blurb explaining what the R means, something I thought was only on 80s lamps but I suppose '79 might be close enough for them to update the etch.
