110V 36W CFL Work Light

Here is a portable work light intended for use on construction sites etc. and so is designed to run from the 110V supplies used there. It uses a rather interesting design of CFL which I've not seen before.

The ballast must be a little electronic one hidden somewhere, as all the black box on the back has in it is the termination of the power cable feed.
