Extinct already
The transition to solid state lighting has already claimed several casualties, such as Sylvania's 35 W European high-pressure sodium lamp whose production ended when the company's HID lamp factory ceased operation in July 2017. Such small lamp was affected by a rather low lumen efficacy of 57 lm/W only, which made it an easy prey to the more efficient semi-conductor technology.

Indeed, that's the point of our collections, beside just enjoying lamps and lighting Smile

I've always found low wattage HID neat so it's a shame to see this go.

It's a shame indeed. It was always easier to develop larger HID lamps, and those small wattage ratings always arrived last on the market. So, as far as they are concerned, last to arrive, first to go.
