 Chalwyn 3 Sided Oil Lamp
I finally found my first Chalwyn !!!! I found this gem at a local antique mall for $40 . It apparently hadn't been used in years as the wick was hard as stone and the inside of the fuel tank was a bit rusty !

I bought a pack of new 3/8" wicks from the local hardware store along with a small bottle of parrafin oil .

I cleaned the rust from the inside of the tank with a quick rinse with Muriatic acid followed by a rinse with clean water . After drying out the inside , I added clean parrafin oil and the new wick .

It's not exactly what I'd call bright but it's nice ! I don't see any form of model name anywhere , ANY IDEAS ?? Also , any ideas of the age ?

Nice little oil lamp. Is that a coach light?

Congrats on joining the Chalwyn club.! My best guess for the date would be late 1940s through to the late 1950s, and a 'Road Danger' lantern. Wonder Oil lamp

Thanks everyone ! This has a large curved piece of metal as the handle . I'll get a better picture when I get a chance .

I presume it's going to be the same or similar to the one on mine. Wonder
The lantern might have been used on the front of a steam locomotive as it has clear, not red or amber lenses.

That's it ! I don't know about a headlight . this thing isn't even as bright as a nightlight .

Locomotives don't really need to see where they're going Tim... Laughing
You can actually see the shadow of the handle. Wonder Oil lamp
