Last photons emitted
So, I tormented my HPS lamp until this happened. I have captured this image from the video of the exact point the vacuum failed due to the outer glass envelope melting. The image has caught the air discharge occurring momentarily before it went out completely.   I have put one of the last pictures of the spectrum below, showing no yellow lines at all. Awesome shot, that's some really painful death there! I had a similar problem with a 250 W HPI-T to which I applied tinfoil on its bulb, but instead of sucking in the softened glass, the pressure buildup of the inner atmosphere resulted in the formation of a rather large glass bubble.
