Sylvania MS400/PS/BU

The spectra shown above were measured from a Sylvania MS400/PS/BU (already presented there) run under various conditions. This sodium-scandium lamp is designed for an operation in the cap up position and features the best performance in the 400 W quartz MH lamp class with an initial lumen efficacy of 111 lm/W. The two spectra at the top corresponds to an operation at 400 W with the cap down (upper spectrum) and cap up (lower spectrum), showing how strong the impact of burning position is on the lamps characteristics. The two spectra at the bottom correspond to an operation in the cap up position at lower input power, showing the shift towards a cooler emitted light color.
