1985 Sylvania FNC Yellow (12 V 50 W)
|
Sylvania’s early colored dichroic MR16 lamps are interesting for the fact that it is their primary multilayer mirror which is tuned to reflect a desired light color while transmitting the complementary color. The company made four different lamps of such kind and this FNC is designed to project a yellow light beam forward while the complementary blue light is transmitted towards the back side of the lamp. The mirror's spectral cutoff is set in the green (around 530 nm), resulting in a projected spectrum that includes all colors from that one to the deep red. Because most of the light emitted by the incandescent tungsten-halogen source lies in that spectral range (with the IR domain as well), this FNC is thus the brightest source of all colored dichroic lamps.
