Philips Historische Producten museum Eindhoven (35/52)

Shown here is the Philips variant of the once ubiquitous beehive-electroded neon glow lamp, which was common from the 1910s to the 1960s. A feature unique to the Dutch-made lamp is the presence of a pair of heavy-duty electrodes inside the beehive structure. This is a surge protector which was useful in the model-4687 voltage-regulator tube which used the same electrode-stem assembly.
