Daiwa Regulated DC Power Supply
|
Here is a regulated DC power supply unit. I originally bought this for my amateur radio equipment, but as I rarely operate any more it is used mainly for general PSU duties as and when needed, also to supply our 120V 60Hz inverter for running frequency-specific US equipment on our 240V 50Hz mains supply.
It has a capacity of 32A continuous load or up to 40A for short periods. There are several sets of terminals, so that more than one piece of equipment can be connected at once. At the top right is a cigarette lighter type socket as fitted to most cars. The output voltage can be adjusted to anywhere between 1-15V and the front panel meter measures either voltage or current as selected by the front panel switch.

The only problem I've ever had with it was when the thermostat that controls the cooling fan failed a while back. I couldn't figure out how to replace it, so I fitted a small toggle switch on the front panel to switch the fan on and off manually. A good old-fashioned bodge
