Pifco Infra-Red & Radiant Heat 'Lamp'

Here is an interesting eBay find, it is a Pifco Infra-Red & Radiant Heat 'Lamp', which consists of a coiled heating element on a ceramic core, protected by a metal guard cage within a 10" diameter metal reflector. Not something that would gain approval these days..!

I believe this to be from the 1950s, but perhaps someone can narrow it down..? The original plug was damaged, so I had to replace it with a new one, but that is the only item not original to the fixture.
