The NaSc fill dosage was also adjusted to the burner's higher operating temperature. Beside the electrode overload, the 1 kW MH lamp operating on a 1500 W ballast was also plagued by a severe arc instability resulting from too much salt being in the vapor phase. That issue was fixed in the 1500 W lamp.
