GEC 130W Carbon Heater Lamp

Here is a carbon filament lamp, this one is dated from September 1986 and was marketed as a carbon heater lamp, they were also used as resistive ballasts in places like school science labs. I believe that they were produced until around 2003, it's a shame they finally stopped making them :-( For what it's worth, this is my favourite style of lamp packaging :-)

It's quite surprising how long those carbon filament lamps were used! The advent of the modern tungsten filament lamp in 1913 did not wipe them out of the market completely.

They still have their uses Bulb Man

Yes they have, although they certainly are becoming very rare as most traditional lamp makers have completely changed their business practice in the past few years.
