Philips 80W HPL lamp from 1954/55 A few years ago now, several of these lamps appeared on Canadian eBay. Someone who owned a warehouse there apparently found a case of these things he didn't know he had, so quite understandably decided to make some money out of it. Can't say I blame him in the least..! I originally bought two, but one unfortunately suffered damage in transit, but I managed to get another one quite quickly. They are from June 1954 and also June 1955, and they are in immaculate condition, so they were stored extremely well. Keywords: Lamps

We have since found another of these lamps, but with an ordinary (not the 3-pin variant) BC cap, which I believe was intended to be used to replace incandescent street lights without having to change the lampholder.
I hope they remembered to add a ballast Mind Blown Mr. Green

Nice! IIRC the seller for these was located just down the road from me. When I bought one I was surprised at how close the shipping address was.
