Nice little classic! That was certainly a good and efficient alternative to the 207-295 W 4000 lm incandescent streetlight lamps, but its harsh bright light must have come as a bad surprise to some when it was first released in the late 1930s.

I'll have to look out our clear BT lamps now, I know we have at least one 100W one Mercury Vapour Lamp

Very nice lamp, especially the small etch version. I settled on getting a Philips-Westinghouse version that largely looks the same as this.

Nice ! Genius here bought a "NOS" /DX version of this . AFTER I made and offer and bought and paid for it I noticed the seller's photo that showed the coal black arc-tube ! DOH ! Embarrassed Somehow I also missed the fact that the sleeve was for a Philips/Westinghouse HPS lamp ! DOH! again !!
