This canister contains a rotating neodymium anode x-ray tube used in mammography. These are designed to produces 'softer' x-rays for use on tissue rather than bone. It has two heater cathodes. The housing is filled with oil for insulation and cooling.  The maximum anode voltage is 39kV.
