Yeah, All we need to do is look for a secondhand 350/383 chevy small block and a manual transmission and it all should bolt right up. All those Chevy engines from that era are built like legos where you can swap drivetrains with very little fuss. Current top speed with the 2 speed transmission is about 70mph.

Yup, definitely needs a more potent set up than that, though that wouldn't be difficult... :mrg:

Spent the last couple days back at home for thanksgiving, heading back Sunday.  8) Ironically I got sick again right before driving back this week but its much more mild than it was last month. Today I went over to a buddy's house who just got a 1966 chevy bel air to give it a look over with him. Tomorrow I might have the chance to drive it, I'll let you know. Currently has a 283 ci V8 and a 2 speed automatic in it which we plan on swapping for a more potent setup.

Yesterday I Unboxed a package of stuff which came from a fellow collector, inside were 2 rapid start 1 lamp F40T12 ballasts. After testing them they both have weak caps, with one being slightly weak and the other pretty badly under powered. The plan for them is to take them apart and take measurements on how they are constructed, and possibly swap in a new set of caps. Those 1980s era advance ballasts are known for having dry film caps that go bad quite often. I also lit up the second pair of F40T12 green lamps I got from Lumex when we met up at my college about a month ago. 8)

I know the feeling, need to sort out some of our duplicates as well.

Anyway, the place is a bit quiet lately, no gallery posts or comments for over a week, get posting, Eric ;D

Take care,

Us

Lanterns/Fixtures / Latest acquisition
Last post by Sammi - 24/11/2024 17:22:11
I recently won an auction on eBay for a Chalwyn Hardin Road Lantern that was produced for the War Department, so that dates it to 1964 at the latest. Pictures will follow when it gets here, but as the delivery isn't tracked I'm not sure when that will be, :oil-ltn: 8)
