I've just fettled the pump leathers on all four of my Tilley lamps, I just pulled the plunger out and swilled them round in 3 in 1 oil before replacing them.
I did have to replace the washer in one of the NRVs as that was pulling paraffin back into the pump.
But everything is fixed and working now, ready to be litted on Sunday when we have our soakses in the bath.

 So how do I get it off ??

Tim, it sounds like you have some LA smog on your refractors... I recently acquired a GE M400A that came from LA, and the guy I got it from said it was really dirty from the smog when he got it. Good luck!

@Max came up trumps with how to wire up the lamp.! 
So today we built the project box, and here is the result.!

I've got to figure out how to wire it up first, it's a weird beast, the spec. shows it as having two voltages and there are three out of the four pins on the base wired, so not sure. Don't want to blow it up, that's for sure

I'll put up a photo tomorrow if I get time and see if anyone has any ideas (@Max) 

The project box arrived today, so it's now over to Ria to do her bit.

I've just ordered a project box that we can put a valve base into so that we  can get the  drawn wire filament lamp that we bought from Andy (Photon) litted.!

 I was SUPPOSED to go to Louisville Kentucky for a soccer game today but the weather changed my plans ! (Severe thunderstorms )  Fortunately , the game has been rescheduled for tomorrow (Saturday) and the weather is supposed to be beautiful .
