If I have the chance to I definitely will.  8) I've been on that section of I-80 before as a passenger, but only during the daytime and I never noticed the LPS tucked under the bridges.

You'll have to go back as a passenger so that you can get pictures.! :lps:

Drove back to Indiana, not much to report other than I got stuck in Chicago traffic. However, right before I hit traffic while I was on the outskirts of Chicago, I caught the HPS lights still left on I-80 warming up. What surprised me was going under an underpass I saw SOX lights being used! I got to see them warm up piece by piece under each bridge I drove under. Couldn't get any photos of it as I was driving but it was a nice site. I don't think I've seen LPS in public use in America at all. :lps:

@wide-lite 1000 I'll let him know about that, they are the original drive train pieces to the car. I wasn't able to drive it yesterday as snow was in the area but I should get a chance to over winter break after he fixes the power steering and carb issues.

You should be able to sell the old engine/trans for decent money as 283's and powerglides are getting rather rare nowadays .

Yeah, All we need to do is look for a secondhand 350/383 chevy small block and a manual transmission and it all should bolt right up. All those Chevy engines from that era are built like legos where you can swap drivetrains with very little fuss. Current top speed with the 2 speed transmission is about 70mph.

Yup, definitely needs a more potent set up than that, though that wouldn't be difficult... :mrg:

Spent the last couple days back at home for thanksgiving, heading back Sunday.  8) Ironically I got sick again right before driving back this week but its much more mild than it was last month. Today I went over to a buddy's house who just got a 1966 chevy bel air to give it a look over with him. Tomorrow I might have the chance to drive it, I'll let you know. Currently has a 283 ci V8 and a 2 speed automatic in it which we plan on swapping for a more potent setup.

@Ria: No, I stopped 4 times, 3 to rest and 1 to go grab lunch. Still was rough on me doing it alone and I've been recovering from being ill last week.

@Sammi: Smooth sailing figuratively of course, the car is powered by gasoline and drives on a road. ;D

Wow, 11 hours, not all in one go, I hope..?  @-@

I must be geting old, these days I can't go for more than two or three hours without stopping for a drink and/or the loo, and anything over about 300 miles calls for an overnight stop :-\

Drove back home for fall break, took me about 11 hours. Chicago traffic was really bad but I managed to escape alive and the rest was smooth sailing. 8)
