Field lamppost

Here we see an odd installation; a street light seemingly serving no purpose other than lighting a field. Our paperwork says this unit is located at 'rear of car park', which is clearly not the case. This is a non-PFI asset, we maintain it on behalf of the parish council. It's up to them what they want doing with it. And nobody has twigged that the car park it used to light was removed before street view first went down the road in 2011! If our job sheets carry out routine electrical inspection, or Clean & Change, or a repair, we will do so, even though it is now pointless. And we won't flag it as needing removing as it's not up to us to decide. I certainly didn't flag it; It's lasted at least 15 years like this, I'm interested to see how long it lasts! It's currently still working, so everyone's happy!
