They're certainly very distinctive.

I remember passing through this station while I was in London last summer, unfortunately the one photo I have of these lights is quite bad. To my eyes they looked closer to clear MV over MH.

Yeah I thought so as well, we didn't make it to that station this trip, but next time we'll try and get a better shot, now Sammi has a decent DSLR camera.

Forget clear MV, those lamps haven't been available in general lighting applications for decades. Aged metal halide is far more likely.

They were definitely clear outer envelopes, but I don't recall what the arc tube looked like.
