Old Philips Museum - part 1 Visitors to the old Philips museum, now gone, were greeted with this nice ceramic tile artwork featuring the Philips factories in Eindhoven in 1916, a gift made for the 25-year jubilee of the company. Written in Dutch at the bottom: "Token of gratitude of the inhabitants of Eindhoven and the surroundings to the N.V. Philips Gloeilampenfabrieken (incandescent lamp manufactures) in Eindhoven". Philips did a lot for the economic and cultural development of the city back then (that was a different era for sure) and people were grateful for that. The 125-year jubilee of the company,back in 2016, came and went mostly unnoticed... Keywords: Miscellaneous

I didn’t know there was a Philips Museum in Eindhoven anymore! That’s good to know, I last made a trip to see the Evoluon shortly before it sadly closed. I used to write to them with technical ideas as a small kid (about 14) and they always wrote back with helpful information.

The place shown in that series is sadly gone now, replaced by a mundane marketing museum, which is a disgrace compared to its former version...
