I'd say this lamp was made by Hitachi or Matsushita (National Panasonic).

Interesting. The inner tube reminded me quite a bit of the open ended one used on the older Hitachi lamps, but I wasn't able to tell if this one had the same design.

It's possible that this lamp still uses a fully sealed bulb with open-ended discharge tubes if it is magnetically ballasted, otherwise you can be sure that it has a more modern design with a proper CFL burner inside a diffuse jacket.

That would be neat if it did. It's hard to tell for sure without opening it up, or at least putting it under a x-ray. It's definitely magnetically ballasted too.
