Westinghouse Quadro-Liner 175W/H39 NEMA-Head
|
The Quadro-Liner...always thought it was a package deal from Westinghouse, but before circa 1970, it was a luminaire all to itself. (It would appear that the name comes from the four-panel optic...this optic was optional on later RMA's) The one above was made after 1962, and has the Paul Rand Westinghouse logo (not pictured) just above the chain hoop on the main housing. When I first found this, I thought it was just an early edition RMA.
I've only seen two of these in the wild...one was a utility rental behind a business, and another at an apartment complex my sister lived at around 30 years ago.
Now the fine print: Unfortunately, all of the original gear was toast, or completely corroded beyond repair. Initially, I didn't realize this when I picked it up...and ended up regretting buying it. But then I remembered that I had a modern Westinghouse (Cooper) RMA with a cracked housing. In the end, I gutted out all of the corroded equipment, and installed and the components from the RMA. In the end, the only real giveaway is the Cooper label on the socket. If I ever wanted to install this, and run it D2D, it would most likely out live me.
