The part I got stuck on was figuring out how to automatically close the trunk from the driver's seat, luckily I realized that problem before I tried this idea out. ;D

Some further thinking will be needed, I theorize that I'll need to make an automatic opening/closing system that can handle the forces applied to the trunk lid at highway speed from air. :wndr:

@Ria: No, I stopped 4 times, 3 to rest and 1 to go grab lunch. Still was rough on me doing it alone and I've been recovering from being ill last week.

@Sammi: Smooth sailing figuratively of course, the car is powered by gasoline and drives on a road. ;D

Wow, 11 hours, not all in one go, I hope..?  @-@

I must be geting old, these days I can't go for more than two or three hours without stopping for a drink and/or the loo, and anything over about 300 miles calls for an overnight stop :-\

Drove back home for fall break, took me about 11 hours. Chicago traffic was really bad but I managed to escape alive and the rest was smooth sailing. 8)

I've toyed with the idea of putting a light bar on the inside of my trunklid, so when someone is has the high beams on behind me at night I press a button under the dash and the trunk pops open and the light turns on.... :mrg:

Back when I was still able to drive my old Police car , I used to use the pillar mounted spot light for the same purpose . It has a 100w halogen sealed beam in it !
